«Promises - Children in the Middle East conflict» arose under the direction of Justine Shapiro (Presenter of the TV series «Lonely Planet»), Carlos Bolado (Director of the award-winning film «Bajo California») and B.Z. Goldberg, American-Israeli journalist and filmmaker, which has grown up in Jerusalem and during the rebellion of the Palestinians, the «Intifada», as a journalist worked. More than five year needed the team for this film completed in 2001.

The film project «Promises» is a non-profit production. The film was produced in cooperation with Independent Television Service and financed from means which were provided by Corporation for Public Broadcasting partly. Furthermore the following organizations participated among others in the financing: The Open Society institutes (George Soros) The National Endowment for The manner, The National Foundation for Jewish Culture (Stephen Spielberg) and the Norman Lear Family Foundation. Counting Yossi Sarid, a member of the Israeli parliament, Hanan Ashrawi, former spokeswoman of the Palestinians, The Very reverend James parks Morton, the deceased Lea Rabin and Debra Winger, as one of the consulting trash of the film.
